The Willow Centre is our Day Care Centre and offers a home-from-home for people with dementia. We provide the highest standards of specialist day care offering reassurance to families that their loved one is in a safe, stimulating and homely environment with friendly staff who fully understand dementia.

Each day, we offer a range of different activities and interests for those attending the service to enjoy freely and safely.

Job Summary
The Cook at the Willow Centre will prepare a daily home cooked lunchtime meal for service users attending the day care centre, Monday to Friday each week. Varying numbers attend each day, so applicants need to have the ability to plan food quantities around occupancy to minimise waste.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in menu planning to create nutritious and appealing meal options and minimise food waste.
  • Prepare and cook meals according to recipes and dietary guidelines.
  • Ensure all food handling practices comply with safety regulations and standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, adhering to health codes.
  • Interact with service users to provide an exceptional meal service.
  • Address any dietary needs or preferences, to develop a suitable menu in collaboration with the Housekeeping Coordinator and team of Cooks.

To be considered for the role, you must have an in-date basic food hygiene certificate and a minimum valid level 1 catering certificate. Any additional training required for the role will be provided in-house.
