Our passionate, expert staff and volunteers work across all age groups and abilities, by providing personalised support.

Our Community Services team enables autistic adults, children, and their families to access support within their local community to build resilience, confidence, and skills to actively participate in society.

We are looking for an Autism Specialist Advisor to join our Walsall Befriending Service. The service offers autistic adults with the opportunity to develop their confidence in meeting other people, developing social networks and accessing their local community. The role will involve providing direct support to autistic adults either on a 1-1 basis or within small groups. The role will require knowledge and understanding of the challenges faced by autistic people and a desire to find ways in which people can build their skills and confidence. The service offers time limited support for people to progress and exit the service with an increased level of confidence around friendships and social interaction.

The role will require the ability to work on own initiative as well as within a small team. There will be an expectation for good organisational skills and the ability to make clear and accurate notes when completing admin tasks.

The post holder will need flexibility to work as part of a small team including working outside normal working hours when required, including occasional evening work. This position is working 20 hours per week
