Learning Support Assistant – Part Cheerleader, Part Academic Ninja
Start Date: at earliest convenience

Salary: KHS Pay scale, dependent upon qualifications and experience
Do you have the awareness and adaptability to support teenagers through the challenges of their academic journey? Can you clearly explain Pythagoras’ theorem while managing classroom distractions and staying tuned in to teenage interests such as pop quizzes and TikTok trends?
If so, we need you.
Our vibrant independent school (ages 7–16) is looking for a brilliant Learning Support Assistant to join our team. You’ll be the extra brainpower, the calm, and the reason a student finally gets algebra.
The Role:
- Supporting students in the classroom and one-to-one (sometimes both at the same time).
- Helping pupils to stay focused, engaged, and occasionally upright.
- Collaborating with teachers to adapt resources, boost confidence and decode teenage handwriting.
- Offering gentle encouragement (and maybe snacks) during exam season.
What You’ll Bring:
- Patience, positivity, and the ability to keep a straight face during unexpected Shakespeare interpretations.
- An interest in education and supporting young people through the ups, downs and essay deadlines.
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
- Previous experience with with ASD & PDA would be desired but not essential.
We Offer:
- A warm, supportive school community.
- Limitless tea, coffee, toast and free lunch (yes, even pudding)
- Real experience in the world of education – ideal for aspiring teachers, psychologists or general world-improvers.
If you believe in young people, love learning (and laughter), and can spot a misplaced decimal from 20 paces, we’d love to hear from you. Apply now – and bring your highlighter.
