POST TITLE: Fundraising and Events Officer HOURS OF WORK: Part time The post will require weekend & evening working to meet the rising demands of the charity POST LOCATION: Rochford and some home working Salary: You may be required to work at any Trust Links project site and travel around the area as needed £25,000 - £27,000 pro rata depending on hours and experience REPORTS TO: Head of Fundraising and Communications RESPONSIBLE FOR: Volunteers (linked to delivery of fundraising, including events) PURPOSE OF THE POST: Trust Links grows communities and transforms lives. Through our six community Growing Together community gardens across Essex, Healthy Mind Hubs, MSE Recovery College, children and youth projects, and environmental workshops, we work with more than 4,000 people each year. We work in a person-centred, grassroots and recovery-focused way, helping to save lives every day and move people on to better lives, with the support of others and the wider community. We have an established programme of seasonal community events each year across the Trust Links sites. Our events engage our members and the wider community, raising awareness of our vital work and helping to raise funding for the charity. Our programme includes Wassailing, Seed Potato Day, May Fayre, Summer Fayre, Apple Day and Christmas Fayre. In addition we are growing our fundraising events programme, including business networking, challenges and fundraising socials. The Postholder will be required to: • Co-ordinate community and fundraising events as part of the team • Take the lead on organising, preparing, delivering and evaluating events, liaising with staff and volunteers in relation to event tasks • Engage and develop an events volunteer committee in conjunction with Head of Fundraising and Communications and the Volunteer Manager. • Contribute to and help develop fundraising strategies as part of the Fundraising and Communications Team • Prospect, engage and develop strong relationship with supporters, including community, individuals, major donors, corporates, and legacy donors • Develop and deliver a high standard of donor stewardship to all donors to drive long-term value • Work with the Fundraising and Communications Team to develop materials to encourage new supporters and to engage existing supporters • Support and manage relationships with fundraising volunteers to increase supporter engagement, raise the charity’s profile and drive income MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POST: • Lead on Trust Links community events and fundraising events, including organising meetings, co-ordinating tasks, assisting with preparation, delivery and event evaluation • Co-ordinate staff and volunteers to support the logistics and delivery of community events and fundraising events • Establish and provide ongoing support for an events volunteer committee to build the capacity of event delivery • Work with the Volunteer Services Manager to recruit and support volunteers to add capacity to Trust Links fundraising and events activities • Plan, deliver, and evaluate Trust Links community challenge events – analysing data to inform future event activities • Maximise income opportunities through developing and managing strong relationships with all supporters, across community, individuals, major donors, legacy, organisations, and corporate income streams • Work collaboratively with the fundraising and communications team to develop fundraising strategies to maximise income from existing and new supporters • Take responsibility for achieving agreed budgets (income and expenditure), reporting on budget performance regularly, planning mitigation actions to address any shortfall throughout the year • Deliver a high level of donor stewardship to all donors, utilising the functionality of the charity’s CRM database • Timely and accurately record, monitor, and evaluate all data associated with fundraising, including income secured/pledged, on the charity’s CRM database, and be responsible for own administration • Provide monthly reports on fundraising income, expenditure, pipeline activities and overall progress against agreed targets (financial and non-financial) utilising Beacon CRM • Take responsibility for developing and achieving objectives and targets, with support from the Head of Fundraising and Communications • Support the development of a charity shop to support fundraising • Ensure all fundraising and communication practices are legally and regulatory compliant in relation to the Data Protection Act 2018 and Fundraising Regulator’s Code of Fundraising Practice, and follow the charity’s best practice, including ethical due diligence, data protection, privacy and communication consent and vulnerability • Work flexibly as reasonably required to meet the demands of the charity, this includes some evening and weekend working.
