Kitchen Assistant.

Salary:£12.60 per hour (£24,243 per annum pro rata) 

Closing date: 20th September 2025. 

Location: Working in our residential and nursing home for older people in Newcastle. 

Hours: 15 hours per week.

The role

St Catherines is a purpose-built nursing home set in private grounds on the West Road in Newcastle upon Tyne. We are looking for a full time Kitchen Assistant to join the team.

The successful candidate will:

• Assist the chef in preparing & cooking, balanced and nutritious meals.
• Carry out food preparation for all meals and refreshment services.
• Cater for all special dietary needs of residents in line with their care plans.
• Organise storerooms and ensure stock rotation
• Ensure all equipment is kept clean.
• Carry out good food management and temperature controls in line with food safety documentation.
