An excellent development opportunity has arisen for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join The Haven School.

About us

The Haven School is an Independent Special School for learners aged 11 – 19 years, with ASC, located in Mold, North Wales.

The Haven School is committed to the education and personal development of children and young people with autistic spectrum conditions, and in doing so, to work in close partnership with families, commissioners and others.

What will the role entail

As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will have had previous experience in a similar role, and will lead by example to our Teaching Assistants encouraging their development. You will demonstrate creative thinking and flexibly, using an understanding of each pupil’s individual needs. You will have experience in a variety of approaches used to engage pupils and overcome barriers to learning.

As well as this you will work alongside the Classroom Teacher and support them with lesson planning and preparation including the evaluation of lesson plans.

You will have knowledge of Autism and will have obtained, or be working towards, a Teaching Assistant NVQ Level 3 qualification.
