Nottinghamshire County Council is a Lead Local Flood Authority seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, innovative and flexible individual to work in the Authority's Flood Risk Management Team.

Having at least 5 years' experience in flood risk management, drainage or planning you will play a key role in delivering strategic flood risk management objectives. You should have an understanding of flood hydrology, hydraulic modelling, drainage and surface water management responsibilities and how these fit in with the current and future planning and development processes.

You will need excellent interpersonal skills, be an effective communicator and comfortable and experienced in negotiating with customers and stakeholders. You must have a high level of personal drive and commitment to excellent customer care and the ability to solve problems and meet targets both as an individual and team player.

You will be part of a team responsible for managing flood risk across Nottinghamshire and will help control the County Council's investment in drainage and flood alleviation. You should be able to work to your own initiative, meet objectives and have a willingness to broaden your own knowledge, skills and experience.

In return for your commitment, we offer a range of benefits including personal development opportunities, Vivup employee discount benefits scheme, work/life balance policies and practices, generous pension scheme, 28 days annual leave + bank holidays, a strong supportive management team and the opportunity to work within a friendly inclusive environment.

This is an opportunity to make a real difference working with Nottinghamshire Communities. We don't expect candidates to meet every single desired qualification, if your experience looks a little different and you think you can bring value to the role we'd like to learn more about you.
