JOB DESCRIPTION: SERVICE LEADER, STOCKWELLAbout Christ Church
London

Our vision is to follow Jesus together, for the renewal of
London. We believe that every part of life and society
can experience the transforming power of the kingdom
of Jesus. The staggering promise of the Bible is that God
wants to use us to make this happen – wherever we are
and in whatever we do.

We believe our London is best served when followers of
Jesus are devoted to seeking his presence and living for
him in every area of life. The challenge for most of us is
that there’s a gap between our present experience and
what the Bible says is possible when we follow Jesus. To
help bridge this gap, we are building the church on three
core values: Presence, Formation, and Mission.

Our services

–

We are one church with five services across four locations:
Central, Mile End, Stockwell, Sutton (including a cantonese
speaking service). Our services range from 70 to 200
people and we have a desire to see more services planted
all across London in the coming years. Our Sutton, Central
and Stockwell services have dedicated Youth teams and
all of our services have active Kids Clubs running.

Our services are each led by a Service Leader, supported
by a volunteer service leadership team and many ministry
leaders and volunteers, who all help to make Sunday and
midweek community life happen.

Structure

–

The church is led by two Senior Pastors and supported
by a diverse leadership team who take responsibility for
the running of the church. There is a wider staff team that
support the running of the church across all our locations.

Mission

–

We are passionate about the renewal of London and we
want to play our part in working for the spiritual, social and
cultural renewal of the city. One of the ways we have done
this is by launching two charities, which we continue to
support and partner with.

STEPS

–

STEPS Global is a charity which equips, resources and trains
churches, charities and other organisations to run 12 step
programmes that help people find faith and/or freedom from
life controlling habits and addictions. Participants come to
work on a variety of issues such as anxiety, low self worth,
pornography or fear of failure and more. We run the STEPS
course twice a year through Christ Church London and
thousands of people have found freedom through the course.

Everything Network

–

Run by the founder of Christ Church London, the Everything
Network hosts an annual conference designed to inspire
and equip believers to make a difference in their area of
life, whether that’s in the arts, politics, business or at home
with children. Alongside this they run an annual leadership
cohort, training 30 young leaders per year to work for
cultural renewal.

Alongside this, we are delighted to support other charities
and social action initiatives.

Beliefs

–

Christ Church London is a Christian church that
believes in the historic life, death, burial and resurrection
of Jesus, and the empowering work of the Holy Spirit in
our lives today. We believe in the authority of the Christian
Scriptures and hold to the essential orthodox Christian
beliefs as expressed in the Nicene Creed.
