About the Role
We’re looking for an experienced and forward-thinking Technical Delivery Manager (Data and Cloud) to join our growing Technology team.
This is a key leadership role within Sense’s technology transformation programme, responsible for delivering modern, secure, and scalable data and cloud solutions that power the organisation’s digital future.
You’ll lead on the delivery of projects that underpin Sense’s data-driven strategy, from implementing our new data platform to managing cloud migrations and optimising infrastructure. Working closely with stakeholders, suppliers, and technical teams, you’ll turn complex requirements into practical, high-quality solutions that improve efficiency and support better outcomes for the people we serve.
This role offers the opportunity to shape how we use technology to help build a sustainable, secure, and future-ready digital ecosystem.
This role is based at our Selly Oak office, with hybrid working (2–3 days per week in the office).
Occasional travel to other Sense locations, including London and Loughborough, and supplier offices may be required.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end delivery of projects across Sense’s data and cloud platforms, ensuring scope, timelines, and quality standards are achieved.
- Manage internal and external resources to deliver integrated, well-supported technical solutions.
- Maintain and deliver a roadmap for the charity’s core data and cloud platforms, including network, backup, and authentication services.
- Oversee the implementation of a modern data platform (integration, storage, and analytics) in collaboration with governance and analytics teams.
- Drive cloud migration and optimisation initiatives (primarily Microsoft Azure).
- Deliver automation and data workflows using low-code/no-code or data pipeline tools.
- Ensure solutions are secure, compliant, and resilient in partnership with architecture and security teams.
- Build strong relationships with business leaders and service managers, acting as a bridge between technical and non-technical audiences.
- Manage suppliers and partners to ensure value for money and performance excellence.
- Promote best practice in governance, documentation, and project delivery standards.
- Support Sense’s Cyber Essentials Plus accreditation and compliance across infrastructure, data, and cloud environments.
About You
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Experienced in delivering complex data, cloud, or enterprise technology projects.
- Knowledgeable in Microsoft Azure and modern data platforms (e.g. Data Factory, Synapse, Power BI).
- Skilled in stakeholder and supplier management, with the ability to communicate clearly across all levels.
- Organised, proactive, and driven by continuous improvement.
- Passionate about using technology to enable better care, inclusion, and empowerment.
Desirable experience and qualifications:
- Experience in the charity, social care, or public sector.
- Understanding of data protection, accessibility, and information security standards.
- Familiarity with low-code/no-code or workflow automation tools.
- Professional certifications (e.g. PRINCE2, Agile, ITIL, or Microsoft Azure Fundamentals).
