Role title: Volunteer Collection Tin Coordinator

To actively engage with the local community and businesses to hold Penny Brohn UK collection tins and encourage donations

Why we need you Collection Tin Coordinators play a crucial role in our fundraising efforts, helping in both raising awareness and vital funds to support more people with cancer. We’re looking for enthusiastic volunteers to distribute static collection tins to shops and businesses local to where they live by approaching local businesses to tell them about the work of Penny Brohn UK and seeking permission to leave a collection tin at their premises. Volunteers will then liaise with the business when the tins need emptying to arrange a suitable date and time for collection in order to bank the money. A small amount of administration and paperwork is necessary to record when this is done.
What skills and abilities do you need?
We are looking for volunteers who are friendly, approachable, enthusiastic and willing to help. Volunteers will also have good attention to detail, numeracy and accuracy
Time commitment This role is really flexible and can fit around other commitments. We do ask Collection Tin Coordinators to collect and bank the money approximately every three months.
Volunteers will receive a full induction to Penny Brohn UK and will be assigned a member of staff as their designated contact to assist and address any questions they may have. This is a great opportunity to build communication and interpersonal skills as well as the opportunity to work within the Charity sector.
