Foreign Languages Assistant (French)

Part time, 6 hours per week, Monday and Tuesday
Term time plus 1 week

Wells Cathedral School seeks a native French Foreign Languages Assistant, to work 6 hours per week, and assist exclusively with our Y13 pupils, focusing on their preparation for the Speaking examination with the AQA exam board. The FLA would also promote languages around the school, and support in the admin of displays around the languages area.

The successful candidate will work mostly with our A-Level pupils, ensuring that they receive one hour of contact time every week. The assistant’s specific qualities enable them to encourage pupils to express themselves orally, to introduce a fun dimension to learning and to discuss socio-cultural topics of interest to children and teenagers, in line with the exam board’s specifications. The main purpose of the FLA role is to support pupils’ preparation for the speaking examinations at A-Level.

Suitable candidates may be interviewed before the closing date and Wells Cathedral School reserves the right to withdraw the position if an early appointment is made. Applicants are therefore encouraged to apply early.
