The Role

Inclusion Education is launching a new specialist school for young people aged 11–16 with chronic mental health needs and neurodiversity, opening in January 2026. We are seeking an empathetic, kind, and passionate individual with experience in mental health, wellbeing, and mindfulness to join our new provision’s founding team. You will play a vital role in supporting students who have faced significant barriers to education due to mental ill health, anxiety, and school-based trauma. Through tailored interventions and personalised support, you will help promote and safeguard the mental health and wellbeing of our students in every session.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to make a meaningful impact. To learn more about our existing provisions and the “Inclusion Way,” please refer to our recruitment application pack and visit our website.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build trusting relationships with students to assess needs and deliver personalised mental health support.
  • Apply evidence-based therapeutic approaches, including CBT, mindfulness, and solution-focused therapy.
  • Integrate holistic wellness strategies that address emotional, social, physical, and academic stressors.
  • Support staff in recognising mental health concerns and implementing effective responses.
  • Champion a whole-school approach to wellbeing aligned with Inclusion Education’s values and the Inclusion Way.
  • Monitor and document project outcomes in line with ethical standards and GDPR, as directed.
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support tailored to individual student needs.
  • Deliver timely, practical interventions that promote student wellbeing.
  • Advocate for neurodiversity and inclusive practices across the school environment.
  • Uphold safeguarding procedures, engage in supervision and CPD, and contribute to team development.

Inclusion Education recognises and values the enriching contribution which people from a range of backgrounds and experiences can bring to the life and development of the Organisation. We therefore aim to provide a service which, in its teaching, administration and support services, actively promotes equality of opportunity and freedom from discrimination on grounds of age, cultural background, disability, ethnicity, gender, religion or sexual orientation.

All employees have a responsibility to promote and maintain a safe and healthy working environment, by taking reasonable care of their own health and safety at work and the well-being of colleagues and students.
