2026 Local Elections Campaign Volunteer

About LCC and the local elections

London Cycling Campaign (LCC) is a charity with more than 20,000 supporters, of whom more than
12,000 are fully paid-up members. We speak up on behalf of everyone who cycles or wants to cycle
in Greater London; and we speak up for a greener, healthier, happier and better-connected capital.

In the run-up to the 2026 local council elections, from 26 March to 6 May, LCC will support its
borough groups in lobbying the main party leaders to pledge to build a safe cycle network if they are
elected. We are looking for a volunteer to provide admin support to the office.

About the Role

The London Cycling Campaign is looking for a volunteer to help gather data before the pre-election
period and keep track of the results throughout the campaign. This will include:

Inputting data into spreadsheets

• Research to identify party leaders across London boroughs
• Gathering questionnaire responses from LCC borough groups
•
• Weekly monitoring results of an ‘email action’ across London boroughs
• Weekly monitoring the LCC elections inbox
•

If possible, attending weekly meetings on Wednesdays at the LCC office

The task will be desk-based and could be done remotely or at the LCC office in Farringdon.

You’ll ideally have the following in this role:

• Knowledge of Excel and Google spreadsheets
• Knowledge of Google Drive
• Attention to detail
• Ability to gather information via internet searches
• Some understanding of the local elections process
• Sympathy with the aims of LCC

However, we encourage you to apply if you don’t have all the skills above or would like to further
develop them. We can offer training and support and see volunteering as an opportunity for you
to learn new skills.

Time commitment – approx 0.5 to 1 day per week, which can be spread across more than one day,
from the start of March to mid-May. This role could be based in the office in Farringdon or working
remotely. Travel expenses and a lunch allowance are available. The preferred volunteering hours
would be Tuesday or Wednesday, to allow reporting the week’s results to a Wednesday afternoon
meeting on the elections campaign. The volunteer could attend the meeting in person, but this is not
essential.
