Many thanks for your interest in the position of trustee at Alphabetti Theatre.

New trustees will be joining us at one of the most crucial moments in the organisation’s history, as we look to meet the challenges of today’s cultural landscape.

We are living through a period of unparalleled difficulty for theatre and the arts. Regionally and nationally, venues, artists and companies are facing up to ever-increasing obstacles posed to creativity.

I took the role of Artistic & Executive Director at Alphabetti because I believe that many of the solutions to the problems being faced by the arts lie in fringe venues. Where ideas are born, where people meet, and where careers grow.

It has never been more essential for venues such as Alphabetti to flourish – to encourage and inspire artists, to provide a sanctuary for those who need us, and to establish Newcastle and the North East as an epicentre for new ideas and creative ambition.
