Diocesan Values Integrity l Respect l Trust l Service l Compassion JOB DESCRIPTION Cleaner Job purpose To provide cleaning services throughout the Church, the church halls and the parish house. Main Duties • Clean Church, halls and parish house to a high standard; • General cleaning including bathrooms, corridors, bedrooms, offices ; • Supply bathrooms and toilets with toilet rolls and clean towels; • Empty bins and remove rubbish; • Ensure that security is maintained; • Adhere to COSHH and Health and Safety regulations; • Maintain stocks of cleaning products; • Undertake other reasonable duties by request of the Parish Priest. Post-holder must be conscientious and loyal to the aims and objectives of the Diocese, having regard at all times to its Catholic character. DIOCESE OF HEXHAM AND NEWCASTLE 2 PERSONAL SPECIFICATION Ironing skills to a satisfactory standard You must have: • Experience of general cleaning in a professional setting • • A commitment to achieving a high standard of cleanliness • The ability to work on own initiative • Good inter-personal skills to communicate with a range of people • A good understanding of basic Health and Safety Regulations, including COSHH PAY AND CONDITIONS Salary £5,896.80 per annum and a workplace pension scheme where we match up to 7.5% of your salary. Contract Hours or work: Part-time – 9 hours per week. Some flexibility is available – times to be negotiated at interview.
