The Trustees of Fulwood Academy seek to appoint an Assistant Principal with responsibility for SEND & EAL.

The Assistant Principal (SEND & EAL)will play a strategic and operational leadership role in ensuring that the school provides an inclusive, ambitious, and supportive environment where every pupil can thrive, regardless of background, need, or starting point.

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a proven track record of successful teaching.
  • A proven record of successful leadership and inclusion strategy, experience in raising attainment for a diverse range of pupils and the ability to inspire and motivate colleagues and pupils alike.
  • A strong knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and inclusive pedagogy, or a clear commitment to developing expertise in this area.
  • Experience leading reading improvement strategies, including reading age intervention and EAL.
  • Commitment to holistic pupil development including Careers, PSHE, SMSC and enrichment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • A commitment to professional development and a passion for improving outcomes for all pupils.

About Fulwood Academy

Fulwood Academy opened on 1st September 2009 replacing Fulwood High School and Arts College, an established and successful 11-16 Secondary School situated in North Preston. In June 2023 Ofsted rated Fulwood Academy as "Good" in all areas, in the report they said:
