Agile Delivery Manager - Product

Permanent

Full time (34.5 hours), we are open to a conversation about how you work these hours

Location: Split between home and our London Office

Salary Range £55,500 - £60,500

About us
At Macmillan you'll find talented people working together to do whatever it takes to support people living with cancer. We're going all out to find even better ways to help even more people who need our support. Our values are at the heart of who we are and everything we do, inspiring our thinking and guiding our actions.

About the role

As an Agile Delivery Manager at Macmillan, you’ll be at the heart of empowering Product teams to deliver meaningful, user-centred products and services. You’ll work closely with a cross functional team i.e. Product Managers, Engineers System Testers, Analysts etc, and other stakeholders to ensure each Product team is set up for success — not just in delivery, but in building a shared understanding of the problems we’re solving for people living with cancer.

You’ll guide teams through the full Scrum lifecycle: from product backlog refinement through to sprint reviews and retrospectives. You'll champion the Scrum framework while staying pragmatic — helping teams adopt the right practices for their context, fostering psychological safety, and encouraging continuous feedback loops and learning.

You will coach and support Product Teams to continuously deliver value at pace, through better collaboration, removal of obstacles and improved focus.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and coach Product teams through sprint cycles, ensuring ceremonies (Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Planning, Reviews, and Retrospectives) are effective, inclusive and valuable.
  • Maintain and optimise the delivery flow of Product teams, ensuring that they plan appropriately for capacity and provide confidence in delivery capability.
  • Enable and support Product Managers in maintaining a healthy product backlog and clearly communicating goals and priorities.
  • Create a culture of empowered teams that take ownership of delivery outcomes, continuously reflect, and improve.
  • Transparently report on progress and encourage the team to work in the open to increase visibility and understanding of their successes and challenges.
  • Facilitate effective collaboration across teams and departments, ensuring team members are aligned, engaged and delivering toward shared goals.
  • Manage external dependencies and ensure transparency around progress and blockers to stakeholders across the organisation.
  • Support Product teams to identify and apply Agile and Lean methodologies, adapting your approach depending on context and encouraging a mindset of experimentation and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain and optimise the delivery flow of Product teams, ensuring that they plan appropriately for capacity and provide confidence in delivery capability.
  • Remove blockers and impediments to progress, and address internal and external risks, seeking help from other teams or individuals when needed, including managing dependencies between teams to ultimately deliver the most value to Macmillan.
  • Transparently report on progress and encourage the Product team to work in the open to increase visibility and understanding of their successes and challenges.
  • Facilitate collaboration with stakeholders and other teams, to enable effective delivery. Support difficult or contentious discussions within the team or with stakeholders when needed, and keep teams focused on reaching the right decision and outcome for Macmillan.

About you

The successful candidate will demonstrate the following skills and experience:

  • Experience of coaching and supporting teams to apply agile and lean best practice working with multidisciplinary teams to deliver technology products and platforms. You’re able to flex your approach as needed, supporting the teams to apply different approaches dependent on context.
  • Proven experience in managing end-to-end delivery of technology products and platforms, from discovery into production, and ongoing continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrable experience in capacity planning and managing complex internal and external dependencies, with examples of how you were able to support teams to prioritise the highest value activity in this environment.
  • Comfortable producing delivery updates and reports for different audiences, flexing approach as required while reducing reporting burden where possible.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to manage stakeholders’ expectations and examples of where you have facilitated challenging conversations in the past to get to the right outcome.
  • Agile delivery qualification or equivalent professional experience.

Application deadline: Tues 14th October 2025
