Job Description for Cleaner Job Title: Cleaner Job Purpose: To ensure the cleanliness and safety of communal areas in our homes, whilst maintaining positive relationships with our residents. To support the Supported Housing Officer as required with other cleaning tasks. Reporting To: Director of Housing Responsible For: No Direct reports Based: Salary: Hours: The role is based at Haberfield House in Stockwood. £22,932 Circa 10 hours per week. Availability on Mondays is essential. Other hours can be negotiated but must be between 8-5, Mon-Fri. Main activities of this position 1. To provide an effective cleaning service in the communal areas and offices of our almshouses. 2. To keep appropriate records of work completed. 3. To work closely with colleagues on site to ensure that cleanliness and safety of our almshouses, raising and resolving issues promptly. 4. To be a friendly, accessible point of contact for residents of our almshouses. 5. To clean vacant properties as and when required. 6. To complete all mandatory training as required. 7. To work according to all relevant policies and procedures. Person Specification Experience Essential • Prior experience of providing a cleaning service. Desirable • Experience of working with/alongside vulnerable adults, particularly older people. • Experience of completing and reviewing COSHH documentation. Essential Competencies (knowledge, skills and behaviours) • An understanding of how to use cleaning products safely and effectively, including an awareness of COSHH regulations. • An ability to manage use of time effectively to accommodate competing demands. • An ability to follow a cleaning task list and/or rota, keeping appropriate records of work completed.
