We seek to appoint youth ministers to complement faith education at St Catherine’s and
contribute to our happy, friendly community. The work of our Chaplaincy is thriving and we are
looking for people to work with the Chaplain and other staff, to enrich school life for pupils. In
seeking the best people for these roles, we are keen to consider the strengths, preferences and
experiences of applicants.
This role would suit a practising Catholic or a Christian with a sympathetic view towards the
Catholic Faith and teachings of the Catholic Church. Experience in parishes, retreats, youth
ministry/events, and/or faith programmes is desirable.
We will provide support (including DBS certification and KCSIE training) along with the assistance
of colleagues experienced in working with our pupils, enabling valuable experience, should
applicants wish to move into full time youth work or teaching.
Youth Ministers work with the School Chaplain and other staff to support current programmes and
to develop opportunities for pupils and staff to experience and share their faith at school.
This is a part time role which can be shaped to suit the successful applicant/s and the School.
There may be occasional evenings, or variation to hours to suit school events. The role does not
require teaching experience; however, for those qualified to teach, experience and interests should
be outlined in the application.
The School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful applicant will be
subject to a number of safer recruitment checks including Enhanced DBS, Barred List and
online/social media checks as part of Keeping Children Safe in Education, and once in post, receive
further training and updates.
If you feel you have the experience, enthusiasm and commitment necessary for this post, then we
would be delighted to receive an application from you. Please note that only applications on the
School’s application form will be considered.
Please complete the enclosed application form and send it together with a covering letter
addressed to the Headmistress via email to recruitment@stcatherineschool.co.uk
Closing date for applications: 11am, Monday 6 October 2025. Interviews will be held in the same
week.
Applications will be reviewed as they are received so early application is recommended
and the School reserves the right to appoint prior to the closing date.
