Volunteer and Peer Mentor Coordinator - Women's Centres (South Wales and Gwent)
Salary: £27,000pa to £29,000pa
Are you passionate about empowering people and building strong, supportive communities? We are seeking a dedicated Volunteer and Peer Mentor Coordinator to join our team. In this rewarding role, you will recruit, train, and support a diverse team of volunteers and peer mentors, ensuring they have a positive and meaningful experience while making a real difference in the lives of others.
Key Responsibilities
- Recruit, induct, and coordinate volunteers and peer mentors.
- Deliver and facilitate training, supervision, and ongoing support for volunteers and peer mentors.
- Develop and maintain effective referral pathways and partnerships with local organisations.
- Match mentors and mentees, regularly reviewing progress and providing guidance as needed.
- Promote volunteering opportunities internally and externally, building relationships to support project success.
- Ensure all safeguarding, risk assessment, and compliance processes are followed in line with organisational and statutory requirements.
- Support volunteers and peer mentors in their professional development and progression.
- Maintain accurate records and produce regular reports on volunteer activity and project outcomes.
About You
- Experience in recruiting, training, and supporting volunteers or peer mentors.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with a wide range of people, including those with lived experience of disadvantage or recovery.
- Confident in delivering training and facilitating group sessions.
- Empathetic, inclusive, and committed to promoting equality, diversity, and the voice of lived experience.
- Strong administrative and IT skills.
- Knowledge of safeguarding and risk management (desirable).
