St Cedd’s School Job Description Job Title: Site Manager Responsible to: The Bursar ___________________________________________________________________________________ The Role St Cedd’s is located on a four acre site in the centre of Chelmsford consisting of a variety of well maintained buildings, sports pitches, playgrounds and gardens. The Site Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the School site and reports to the Bursar but will be expected to liaise with the Head and other staff for various events. The School is seeking an experienced manager with a proven track record gained in a school or similar environment. The Site Manager is expected to lead by example and to set and maintain the high standards already established in the department. Key Responsibilities Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs across the school premises ensuring all buildings and grounds are maintained to a high standard, promoting a safe and welcoming learning environment. Ensure the site is secure, including opening and closing the premises daily to meet the needs of the school. Monitor and manage heating, lighting and other essential facilities. To be responsible for carrying out Health and Safety checks including fire, emergency lighting, legionella etc. and keeping accurate up to date records to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and statutory requirements. Maintain accurate records of maintenance schedules and completed tasks. Support with cleaning and tidying communal spaces as needed. Occasional driving and off site duties. Manage budgets for site-related services and works, ensuring value for money. Assist in setting up rooms or equipment for school events and activities. Liaise and manage a programme of general DIY repairs including planned and preventative maintenance and redecoration and coordinating with external contractors. 1
