Job overview
We are looking to recruit a motivated, enthusiastic, reliable and trustworthy Clinical Support Worker Higher Level to join our friendly team.
Tocketts Ward is a 30 bed community hospital ward providing care for patients with long term health needs who have also been admitted to hospital following an acute episode of illness. Patients have a range of conditions and can be admitted for palliative care or rehabilitation. The Ward has a blend of ring-fenced beds for consultant led beds and general practitioner led beds.
Main duties of the job
As a Clinical Support Worker Higher Level you will need to be flexible and hardworking.
Training and development opportunities will be given.
We will require the successful candidate to work days, nights and weekends on a rotational basis.
You will need to be able to prioritise work under pressure and have excellent communication skills.
We pride ourselves on delivering high standards of care and you will need to demonstrate how you will ensure this through your application and as part of the interview process.

Qualifications & Training
Essential criteria
- Numeracy and Literacy Level 2 or Maths & English GCSE (English Language or English Literature) AC/ 4-9 or Maths & English O Level/GCE A-C or Maths & English CSE Grade 1 or NARIC/ENIC which compares the qualification to UK GCSE (https://www.enic-naric.net/)
- Care certificate
- Level 3 vocational qualification or Short courses and completion of competency workbook equivalent to Level 3 in a range of patient and clinical care duties and/or Equivalent knowledge and experience in a range of clinical care duties equivalent to Level 3; - Theoretical knowledge - Experience of a range of care and related procedures - clinical observations - knowledge of relevant legislation
Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience of working in health or social care.
- Experience of undertaking and recording clinical observations and escalation of changes or findings.
Knowledge & Skills
Essential criteria
- Analytical and judgement skills to make decisions based on patient / service user interactions and observations and metrics.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication & active listening skills. Ability to adopt appropriate styles & methods of communication.
- Timekeeping, planning & prioritisation skills.
- Working knowledge of legislation underpinning care provision
- Ability to demonstrate the importance of holistic person-centred care & related procedures
- Understanding of the importance of robust, accurate, clear, timely documentation.
- Knowledge of Safeguarding.
