PERSONAL CARE ASSISTANTS to work in our small, personalised “supported living” homes in South/West Hertfordshire.

£26,700 pa * (Full time) / £12.21 per hour

Rising to £12.74 per hour after sucessful completion of probation and training (equivalent to £27,700 pa)

Full time and part time opportunities available

We are seeking enthusiastic, energetic and passionate workers to support 1 or 2 individuals with Learning Disabilities in their home. It's no ordinary job and every day can be different. Most importantly it's about offering opportunities for people to experience things that many of us take for granted.

· You will support individuals with their daily living activities, looking after their home and preparing meals.

· You will offer companionship, encouraging and teaching new skills and developing interests to increase independence and enjoy new experiences.

· You will support individuals with day to day personal care.

· You will be empowering people going to the shops; to clubs; to the cinema or theatre, or just for a cup of coffee with friends.

· You will be working in a small, committed and relaxed team.

This role can be both rewarding and challenging as you support people with their everyday needs, communication and assisting them to maintain their emotional health and general wellbeing.

You will work flexibly and need to be able to join in with weekend and evening shifts; and sleep-ins. We are supporting people in great locations close to Watford, with good links to bus and train travel.

Being a driver is a big advantage as that can help people with limited mobility to be able to get out and about, and can bring even more verity to the role.

If you feel passionate about all people being given an opportunity to live life to the full then this type of job could suit you very well. Previous experience somewhere in social or healthcare or mental health support is helpful but not essential. It is more important that you share our values in your approach and can demonstrate this. You will receive appropriate training to develop skills and increase knowledge.

Salary: £12.21 /hour (£26,700 per year), full-time position is 37.5 hours. Rising to £12.74 ph (£27,700 pa) on successful completion of probation & training.

You will work shifts of a mixture of early shifts, late shifts, weekends and bank holidays and sleep-ins.

*Additionally, sleep in duties are paid at around £63 per sleep-in. A full-time salary with a sleep in duty per week is around £26,700 pa.
