Management Accountant
Location – Nr Stroud
Salary – £41,000
Hours – Full time (hybrid working, 3 days in the office, 2 days at home)
Are you a skilled finance professional looking to make a meaningful impact in the charity sector? We’re seeking a Management Accountant to lead our Finance team and ensure the smooth running of financial operations across the organisation.
About the Role
As Management Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in delivering accurate and timely management accounts, supporting financial decision-making, and ensuring compliance with charity-specific financial regulations. You’ll work closely with your line manager to analyse financial performance and drive process improvements that enhance operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day to day line management and oversee workload allocation within the Finance team.
- Maintain accurate records of income and expenditure in line with charity SORP (Statement of Recommended Practice).
- Prepare monthly management accounts, including variance analysis.
- Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and relevant charity legislation.
- Ensure accurate preparation and timely submission of VAT returns and Payroll and associated taxes.
- Have oversight of monthly payroll.
- Monitor Restricted and Unrestricted funds, ensuring appropriate allocation and reporting.
- Work with the income generation teams to provide information, support grant applications and facilitate reporting to donors.
- Support line manager in the implementation of process improvements to increase operational efficiency
- Support the budgeting and forecasting processes, working closely with line manager.
- Liaise with external auditors and be principal contact for the audit fieldwork.
