The
St Vincent de Paul Society (SVP)is looking for aCasual Activities Assistantto support the delivery of a wide range of community-focused activities at our centre. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a warm, welcoming team that’s committed to turning concern into action.What You’ll Be Doing:- Supporting the Activities Coordinator in planning and delivering workshops, classes, and group activities.
- Helping to ensure all activities are well-organised, safe, and meet the needs of the local community.
- Welcoming visitors and signposting them to appropriate support.
- Promoting the centre and its services locally and nationally.
- Maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with health and safety and safeguarding policies.
- Attending networking events and training to enhance the centre’s outreach.
- Experience developing and coordinating activities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A proactive, self-motivated approach with great organisational abilities.
- Understanding of safeguarding and health & safety procedures.
- IT literacy, including Microsoft Office.
- GCSEs (A*-C) in English and Maths or equivalent.
- Experience working or volunteering in the charity or voluntary sector.
- Experience working with vulnerable people or in a learning/training environment.
- Ability to develop creative sports or recreational activities.
