Disability Coordinator

Person specification.

  • Act as the first point of contact for disabled students, providing day-to-day support.
  • Coordinate the implementation of Student Support Plans (SSPs) in collaboration with the Disability Advisory Service.
  • Maintain accurate records of support and adjustments.
  • Liaise with academic, administrative, and external services to implement necessary support.
  • Monitor academic progress (eg TMS, GSR reports) and assess if further support is needed.
  • Process examination adjustment requests and support applications to the Proctors or Education Committee (college-based).
  • Work collaboratively with the Head of Student Welfare and Wellbeing and the Disability Advisory Service (DAS)on complex cases and maintain regular communication with College’s DAS advisor and with the Academic Office and tutors as necessary.
  • Act as first point of contact for assisting students with disabilities and for those who disclose a disability and to co-ordinate any support to which they may be eligible to apply for or entitled to.
  • Provide information and support to students and staff on student-related disability issues as well as supporting the EDI Fellow in their roles as Secretary to the EDI Committee and Chair of Student Equality Forum
  • Liaison with the University Disability Advisory Service and representing College on the Disability Professionals’ Forum
  • Meeting prospective students with disabilities and/or responding to email and telephone enquiries from prospective students or their parents regarding disability support
  • Administer the Undergraduate and Graduate accommodation off-ballot process administration in collaboration with the Domestic Bursar's office
  • Administration of and attendance at the Student Equality Forum administration and attendance
  • Attend termly Welfare Committee meetings.

Salary: 0.6FTE of Grade 6 of the University salary scale (currently £33,951-£39,906 per annum). Plus a pro-rata amount of the OUW of £1,730 per annum.

Hours of work: The hours of work are 21 hours per week Monday to Friday. Normal hours of work are to be agreed but are expected to fall within the period 8.30am – 5.30pm, with an hour for lunch. Some flexibility will be required according to particular responsibilities; some evening and weekend work may be required, for which time off in lieu will be given.
