About us...
PCRS is a substance misuse service based in Forest Hill, Lewisham. PCRS is one of two treatment providers within the borough of Lewisham. PCRS operates from the main service based at 55 Dartmouth Road and eight GP hubs enabling service users to be seen at different locations within the borough. We offer one-to-one psychosocial key-working sessions, mutual aid support i.e.: groups, community alcohol detoxes as well as referrals to residential rehabs, day programs, and employment and training support. At our GP hubs we offer opiate substitute treatment to service users misusing opioids.
Aftercare team delivers 12-week structured Abstinence and Relapse Prevention group program as well as one-to-one psychosocial key working sessions.
The role...The successful candidate will join our newly established and innovative multi-agency team led by Lewisham Children’s Social Care, known as the Family Wellbeing Team, which provides integrated mental health, substance misuse and family support for parents of children on statutory Child in Need plans.
The overall aim of this team is to improve the safety and wellbeing of children affected by the substance use and mental health needs of their parents and carers. This will be achieved through providing support to parents to ensure that substance misuse no longer impacts on their ability to care for their child, and to improve their mental health and wellbeing, including by addressing the underlying trauma that may be contributing to their substance misuse.
Whilst the post will sit within the Substance Misuse Team it provides an exciting opportunity to work jointly with Lewisham Children’s Social Care and Mental Health Service. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to interface directly with partner agencies including Primary Care, Secondary Care and MIND to ensure effective service delivery and discharge planning.
