This is a fantastic opportunity for a part time Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to join the longest-established Greyhound charity in Wales and the only all-Wales charity dedicated to rescuing and re-homing Greyhounds and Lurchers.

Our work is led by our CEO, who is the link between the Board of Trustees and our dedicated team of staff & volunteers who keep things running all year round. 

We are looking for a highly skilled individual with experience of operating at a senior level within a Third Sector or membership lead organisation. Ideally you will have direct experience of fundraising and be an excellent communicator both internally and public facing.

The Role
The CEO is responsible for the strategic development & overall management of the organisation. 

Reporting to and working with the Board of Trustees, the CEO leads the company, shapes its vision and culture, and ensures the business operates profitably and achieves its goals. The CEO is the crucial conduit between the strategic-level direction of the Board, and the day-to-day activity of the organisation.

Role-Specific Responsibilities
● Senior staff member: You will be the primary representative for the charity and all its activities, presenting a professional image both internally and externally.
● Strategic Planning: Develop and implement the company's long-term vision and strategic plans. 
● Overall Management: Oversee all aspects of the company's operations, ensuring they align with the strategic goals. 
● Decision Making: Make major corporate decisions, including those related to finances, operations, and personnel. 
● Leadership: Provide inspirational leadership to the entire organization, setting the tone for the company culture. 
● Performance Management: Evaluate the performance of the Head of Operations and ensure the charity is meeting its goals. 
● Resource Management: Manage the company's resources, including financial, human, and physical assets. 
● Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks to the company. 
● Compliance: Ensure the company adheres to all legal and regulatory requirements.
● Governance: oversee the mandatory requirements of running a CIO such as publishing the annual report, Mandatory filings and running the Annual General Meeting
● Finance: Working with the Treasurer (Trustee) and the Head of Operations to develop and monitor performance against the annual budget along with seeking continual improvements in the delivery and cost efficiency of GRW services.
● Income Generation: Oversee and coordinate the development of any capital projects and associated appeals to ensure any gaps in knowledge or service are identified and flagged.
● Media Campaigns and Public Affairs: Act as the primary spokesperson for GRW at public events & in the media.
● Project Management: Devise, implement & manage projects in line with the organisation’s aims and objectives.

Reports to: Board of Trustees

Line Manager for: Head of Operations. Plus indirect management of all other staff

Location: Hybrid - homeworking with regular travel throughout Wales. Occasional travel to the wider UK for meetings and conferences.

Hours: 16 hrs (2 days) per week, however a degree of flexibility is required

Rate: £45,000 - £52,000 pro rata dependent on experience
