Marketing & Communications Coordinator

Do you have a flair for storytelling, a passion for digital marketing, and the creativity to make ideas come alive? Galloways is looking for a Marketing & Communications Coordinator to help us share powerful stories, grow our reach, and inspire more people to get involved in supporting blind and partially sighted people across our region.

This is an exciting, hands-on role for someone who loves working across different platforms, is confident with people, and enjoys turning bold ideas into impactful communications.

  What you’ll be doing

As our Marketing & Communications Coordinator, you’ll be at the heart of our comms and marketing activity, with tasks including:

  • Digital & Email Marketing– develop and send engaging supporter emails, segment data for tailored journeys, and use analytics to refine impact.
  • Content Creation– plan, write, and produce posts, reels, videos, press releases and audio content that stand out.
  • Photography & Storytelling– capture events and stories, interview people, and turn them into compelling copy for press releases, our website, and supporter magazines.
  • Web & Social Media– post across platforms, edit and update the back end of our website, track performance with analytics, and (bonus!) run Google Ads.
  • Design & Branding– create fresh designs in Canva or Adobe, produce marketing collateral from banners to business cards, and champion our brand across all touchpoints.
  • Campaigns & Appeals– contribute to fundraising appeals, supporter magazines, and creative campaigns that raise awareness and income. This will involve working closely with external agencies and providers to deliver marketing initiatives, liaising with mail houses, design agencies, suppliers etc.
  • Communications– develop and implement internal communication strategies (e.g.: newsletters, bulletins) to engage the staff.

About you

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • Creative, curious, and excited about developments in marketing, design, AI, media, and technology.
  • A confident communicator who enjoys meeting people, asking questions, and telling stories that inspire and ignite emotion.
  • Skilled in digital marketing and design tools (WordPress, Mailerlite, Canva, Adobe Suite – or keen to learn).
  • A problem-solver with a can-do attitude who isn’t afraid to try new things – including jumping in the back of a car driven by a visually impaired person to capture some thrilling video content!
  • Full of ideas — and able to make them happen, no matter how crazy they are!

Why join Galloways?

At Galloways, you’ll join a passionate and supportive team making a real difference every day. This role offers variety, creativity, and the chance to shape how our charity shares its story with the world.

If you’re excited about getting where water can’t to engage with our communities and create content that makes people stop scrolling and take action, we’d love to hear from you.

Even if you do not hold all the skills and experience mentioned, we would still love to hear from you.

Starting salary of £29,417 FTE with annual pay progression to £35,125

If you wish to apply for this role, please send your CV and accompanying covering letter explaining how you feel you meet the above criteria and what you could bring to Galloways to holly.atkinson@galloways.org.uk before the closing date of 9am Tuesday 23rd September 2025.
