Location: Leeds City Centre
Hours: 3.5 hours per week (Wednesdays 6.30pm – 9pm delivery + 1 hour planning/admin)
Salary: £13.21 per hour

Join People in Action as a Group Leader for our In the City Wednesday evening group. In the City group is a social group which enables members to access all of the great activities, restaurants and events that Leeds City Centre has to offer.
About the Role:
The role will be to ensure all members are safe and empower them to engage and take part in all activities as independently as possible. In the City group is a social group which enables members to access all of the great activities, restaurants and events that Leeds City Centre has to offer.
In this role, you’ll:
- Plan and deliveran inclusive, member-led activity programme (updated every 12 weeks).
- Lead and motivatea small team of staff and volunteers.
- Encourage participationby supporting members in a person-centred way, promoting independence, dignity, and choice.
- Ensure safetyby creating and following risk assessments.
- Manage admin tasksincluding attendance records and monitoring outcomes for our funders.
What we are looking for:
You’ll be an approachable, positive individual who enjoys working with people and helping them thrive.
Essential:
- At least 6 months’ experience supporting autistic people, learning disabled people, or other vulnerable groups.
- Experience leading and facilitating activities in a person-centred way.
- Strong communication skills to work with members, carers, staff, and partners.
- Ability to encourage friendships and confidence in others.
- A flexible, team-focused approach and commitment to safeguarding.
Desirable:
- Experience leading volunteers.
- Experience completing and using risk assessments.
- Understanding of the Social Model of Disability.
