We're looking for a Payroll Assistant to join our Finance Team!
At Everyturn Mental Health, our Payroll Assistant plays a key role in ensuring accurate and efficient payroll operations. Working closely with the Financial Controller and wider finance team, you’ll help deliver a smooth, compliant payroll process, supporting our people through precision, reliability, and attention to detail.
What you'll do:
- Assist the Financial Controller and wider payroll team in processing payroll, ensuring all policies, procedures, and legislation are followed.
- Support the onboarding and exit process from a payroll perspective to ensure smooth and accurate transitions.
- Collaborate with the Financial Controller on benefits, deductions, one-off payments, and tax implications to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Prepare third-party payments and associated documentation, and support the finance team by posting payroll journals to the ledgers.
- Assist in the creation of balance sheet reconciliations, maintaining full back-up schedules for key control accounts (including net pay and deductions).
- Process and support the running of in-house weekly and monthly payrolls.
- Manage the payroll inbox and respond to key stakeholder queries within agreed timescales.
- Undertake any other reasonable duties to meet the needs of the organisation.
Key requirements:
- GCSE Maths and English (A*-C / 4-9) or equivalent.
- CIPP Level 5 qualification (or willingness to undertake on appointment).
- Experience supporting payroll in a complex organisation.
- Proven ability to meet payroll KPIs and complete accurate reconciliations.
- Strong understanding of financial regulations, payroll processes, and GDPR.
- Excellent communication and IT skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Office 365, and financial CRM systems.
- Strong time management skills, attention to detail, and enthusiasm for continuous professional development.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, building positive relationships across departments.
