Day Centre Support Workers

Salary: £27,000 per annum, full-time (pro-rata for part time)

Hours: 21 - 35 hours per week, Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm

Contract: Permanent

Location: Sutton (this is not a remote role)

Commissioned by Sutton Council, Age UK Sutton will be managing a Day Centre delivering flexible support to adults with dementia alongside delivery of the Sutton Dementia Hub, offering compassionate support throughout every stage of the dementia journey.

The role of the Day Centre is to provide pratical and engaging person-centred support to develop and maintain independence for clients and to enable clients to participate in stimulating activities of their choice.

We are recruiting Support Workers to ensure that service users personal, social and cultural needs are met and respected and provide assistance within our day centre. Support Workers will also help to deliver and develop activity sessions in the day centre and keep accurate records.

The Day Centre is due to open on January 5th 2026 

Age UK Sutton are looking for person-centred Support Workers who:

  • Are able to recognise the needs of clients and work in a person-centred way;
  • Have prior experience of providing personal care or have a willingness to be trained in this skill;
  • Can engage and communicate effectively with a diverse range of people;
  • Are willing to work flexibly around the needs of the service and able to support and lead activities for clients.
