Following exciting growth and evolution of Tyneside and Northumberland Mind in recent years comes a rewarding new role within the charity; Front of House Charity Support Coordinator. Play an instrumental role in this next phase of our Local Mind; expanding our reach, strengthening our income-generating services, and amplifying the way we engage with our communities, partners, and supporters.
This new, multifaceted role, blends business development, service coordination, and promotional leadership, with the postholder supporting the delivery of our mental health training programmes, managing key communications, and acting as an integral role in shaping our public presence.
As Front of House Charity Support Coordinator, the postholder will play an integral role in implementing our strategic direction, working closely with the CEO and Senior Leadership Team to support initiatives, ensure smooth operational delivery and leading the Tyneside and Northumberland Mind Ambassador Scheme, a new initiative with the power to amplify all we do as a local mental health charity and create greater mental health awareness across the region. As Front of House Charity Support Coordinator, you will have the unique opportunity to design a role from the ground up, bringing innovation, initiative, and passion, helping us build a future of better mental health awareness and support services to all those that need them.
• Support the development and day to day running of a welcoming and professional Front of House function for the charity.
• Build on existing relationships and support the development of new business opportunities.
• Act as a first point of contact for sales and service enquiries via phone, email and in person, ensuring timely and accurate responses.
• Provide clear information about the charity’s services, training and mental health resources.
• Support introductory sales conversation and partnership discussions, sharing information about the charity’s paid for services and escalating where appropriate.
• Send follow up information and proposals to individuals and organisations interested in our services.
• Work closely with the marketing team to help create clear and relevant promotional materials.
• Identify opportunities to improve how the charity engages with external audiences.
• Support the planning, organisation, promotion and occasional delivery of charity events, outreach and promotional activities.
• Work closely with colleagues to coordinate services, schedule and delivery activity.
• Manage the calendar for training and coordinate internal and associate trainers.
• Liaise with the Head of Finance to support invoicing, payments and administrative tasks related to training and service provision.
• Work closely with the marketing team to help create clear and relevant promotional materials.
• Share insights from enquiries, sales and partner conversations to support marketing, fundraising and community engagement activity.
• Maintain accurate records relating to services, training and relevant enquiries, and share feedback from clients and partners to support learning and service improvement.
• Supporting the CEO and Senior Leadership Team with administrative tasks and supporting the implementation of our strategic direction.
• Lead the Tyneside and Northumberland Mind ambassador scheme.
• Experience in a front-facing roles, coordination, business development or partnership roles.
• Confidence promoting services and engaging in sales and partnership conversations.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to empathise with people.
• Ability to work independently, take initiative, and build new processes.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Strategic and forward-thinking mind set, comfortable with challenge and change.
• Strong Alignment with Tyneside and Northumberland Mind values and mission.
• Ability and experience of working to targets.
• Proficiency in using office software and communication tools.
• Full drivers licence and use of own vehicle with confidence to drive in Tyneside and Northumberland Mind’s area of benefit (e.g. Newcastle, Gateshead, North and South Tyneside and Northumberland).
• Experience working or volunteering in a charity or not for profit organisation.
• Experience engaging with volunteers, ambassadors or community representatives.
In the light of legislation [Section 8 Asylum and Immigration Act, January 1997], as a condition of being able to commence employment, the successful candidate will be required to provide documentation to prove that they are able to work in the UK. Such documents will include one or more of the following, as appropriate:
- National Insurance number.
- Birth certificate or British passport.
- Certificate of registration, or naturalisation as a British citizen.
- Passport or documentation evidencing citizenship of an EEA country.

As this role involves regular travel to various locations to meet the operational needs of the business, offer holders must have:
- A full driving licence.
- Ideally access to private vehicle.
- Valid business travel insurance.
The appointment is subject to a probation period of 6 months.
Out of pocket expenses will be payable at rates set out in Tyneside and Northumberland Mind's expenses policy.
On joining, pro rata on a 24 working days per annum. Thereafter, the holiday entitlement increases depending on length of service. (The holiday year runs from 1 April to 31 March.)
