Job Title: Live Well Worker
Salary: £12.60 per hour
Pension: Workplace pension contributions
Hours: 25 - 37 hours per week (including lunch break) – 12-month contract – Will be extended if funding is continued.

Responsible for: Client support and engagement
Location: 1 Paddington Close and satellite centres (in Salford)
Main Tasks
Reporting to the Senior Support Worker to support a daily engagement and triage service as part of the support team at the Drop-In Centre. The role will include following and recording community members’ journeys, recording sessions and creating reports.
Advice and Support
Working within the support team, covering triage when needed and recording community members’ journeys through case studies and other means.
Record appointment numbers into one of our sessions held by external agencies inside the centre. These include SHOP, RSI, ABEN, other councils, CAB, the Food Bank, Pendleton Gateway, Revive, and Achieve.
Liaise with these agencies when in the centre and manage their lists, work with them compiling case studies,
Working with reception on client names and who has asked for support.
To build welcoming relationships with people coming to the Centre and external satellite environments to engage with people who need help, to build positive relationships with members of the community to support them through a range of informal and formal activities
To support, encourage and motivate people to work towards short-term goals which support their own long-term aspirations.
To deliver appropriate interventions and to support/develop client activities.
To engage individuals, encourage and enable them to attend activities at both Salford Loaves and Fishes and other locations.
To carry out all associated administration, including keeping accurate case records and completing referral forms when needed.
To provide cover for other members of the support team when they are on leave.
To build positive relationships across the community, encourage clients to engage with activities and services and to contribute to the community engagement agenda.
To build and develop external relationships for and on behalf of the clients and centre.
To identify external resources, opportunities and funding to support work and projects on behalf of the clients and centre.
To work alongside and assist the existing support staff.
To be part of the rota that covers Support Delivery during opening hours
To lead on any required activities both internally and externally – When required.
Please Note – Some staff will be required to work 4 hours on Christmas Day (2 Lieu days given).
Skills and Knowledge
· Excellent customer service skills.

· A good knowledge of issues facing vulnerable housed, isolated and homeless people: legislation, welfare benefits, support service, safeguarding and equal opportunities.

· Computing skills, including word-processing and ability to produce reports.

Experience
· Experience of working with people who are vulnerably housed, isolated and homeless people or marginalised in other ways, providing support to help them to access services.
· Experience of working in an empowering way with people.
· Experience of motivating people to make positive changes in their lives.
· Experience of working in a Drop-In environment.
· Experience of volunteering and/or supporting volunteers.
· Experience of working with people whose first language is not English.
· Experience of working under pressure and dealing with challenging and sometimes aggressive behaviour.
Work Related Circumstances
· Willingness to work the core hours flexibly, across multiple locations and to be punctual and reliable.
· Willingness to work on Christmas Day.
· Willingness to undertake practical tasks as required.
This post is subject to an enhanced DBS check (formerly CRB) as it will involve work with vulnerable adults.
