Job Overview

Working as part of an established and cohesive team, to support the Head of Department in
the planning and delivery of high quality and enjoyable co-educational Maths lessons to
children of all abilities in our Senior School, up to and including GCSE.

Duties and
Responsibilities:

Keys Skills &
Knowledge:

  Deliver engaging Mathematics lessons to Senior School pupils up to and including

GCSE level.

  Prepare pupils for GCSE examinations and Scholarship assessments, ensuring

curriculum alignment.

  Contribute to schemes of work for each teaching group, following departmental

guidelines.

  Differentiate instruction to support a range of abilities within each class.
  Monitor and support pupil discipline, safety, well-being, and academic progress.
  Assess pupil progress through testing and efficient marking, and provide grades and

comments for reports.

  Communicate concerns about pupil progress to Form Teachers, Tutors, or Heads of

Year.

  Display pupil work to celebrate achievement and foster pride.
  Attend and contribute to departmental and school-wide meetings.
  Fulfil supervisory duties and provide cover for absent colleagues as required.
  Participate in Parents’ Evenings, school functions, trips, and events.
  Lead or support extra-curricular activities and year-group outings.
  Maintain positive relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues.
  Strong academic background with the ability to teach Mathematics to GCSE level.
  A-Level study of Mathematics is essential; a Mathematics-based degree is preferred.
  Experience teaching Further Mathematics is desirable.
  Familiarity with the National Curriculum and GCSE syllabi.
  Skilled in designing programmes that enhance pupil learning.
  Proficient in assessment and reporting techniques.
  Confident in using IT and emerging technologies to support teaching and learning.
  Strong work ethic and ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
  Qualified to drive a School minibus, or willing to be trained (desirable).

At all times the person in role will:

the probationary period.
