ABOUT THE ROLE Reporting to the Regional Transport & Distribution Centre Manager, the Transport Administrator, plays a pivotal role in the Supply Chain Operations team. Your responsibilities will extend beyond route planning and providing best practice guidance to our Driving Community. You will also be a crucial link between the Food & Community teams, supporting the Supply Chain Transport Coordinator. This is a diverse and pressured role where time management and extensive experience in managing drivers is as crucial as maintaining a customer-facing collaborative approach to deliveries. Working alongside the Supply Chain Transport Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in addressing gaps in the daily operations, leveraging your in-depth knowledge of City Harvest’s routing matrix. You will further develop your existing skillset by analysing data with the support of the Supply Chain Business Analyst. This will involve modelling traffic patterns and developing strategies for optimised delivery that prioritises safety, efficiency, and environmental sustainability. This role demands exceptional commitment and dedication to the City Harvest mission, given the additional and responsibilities involved. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Route planning - create and deploy routings for the fleet on a daily basis, creating and sharing data sets to facilitate the daily operation of the vehicle fleet, drawing on your deep knowledge of vehicle placement and optimising capability whilst insuring risk. • Collaboration and Communication - work collaboratively with other departments, contractors and stakeholders to ensure effective project delivery; TRANSPORT ADMINISTARTOR – Job Description trouble shoot, identify inflight challenges, evaluate process success with KPI’s and build productive relationships with internal and externa stakeholders. • Order Fulfilment - ensure orders are processed and shipped accurately and on time in accordance with Load Guides. • Warehouse operations - work collaboratively with the warehouse team, to ensure optimal fulfilment through load guide optimisation; ensuring compliance to max weight capacity, whilst upholding regulatory compliance. • Stakeholder Engagement - work with various stakeholders, including various departments across the organisation, Charity Partners, Donors, Developers, Community Groups, and the Public, to gather input and implement plans. • Fleet Management – book and coordinate the effective, on-time and in full (OTIF) transport of all produce. • Reporting - create and maintain accurate reports on your areas of accountability and responsibility. • Driving - drive vehicles, completing tasks therein associated, such as unloading/loading/accurately fulfilling load guide criteria etc. ABOUT YOU You’re a team player with a proactive mindset, ready to take on all and any responsibilities that come your way. TRANSPORT ADMINISTARTOR – Job Description • Technological proficiency in Microsoft Office Package, TMS (Transport Management Systems), ERP/CRM. • Strong analytical, problem-solving and quality assurance skills. • Communication skills, need to be able to clearly communicate findings. • Understanding of road transport regulations (Operating Licence) & familiarity with UK transport laws.
