BARNARDO'S LIVERPOOL & KNOWSLEY SENDIASS CASEWORKER

Barnardo's Liverpool & Knowsley SENDIASS are currently looking to appoint a caseworker who is passionate about improving outcomes for children and young people with a special educational need / disability (SEND).  Someone who can enable children, young people and their families to participate fully in decisions about the outcomes that they wish to achieve. 

Is this you?

This role requires a high level of competence and, in addition to above:

  • You must be able to work both individually and in a team.
  • Have experience in managing a demanding personal caseload, to deliver good quality statutory information, advice, support and representation.
  • Have experience in delivering workshops and/or training and participate in events or forums representing families' views.
  • Support the Helpline function of the service. Experience in this area would be advantageous.
  • You will have an up-to-date knowledge and understanding of SEND legal framework and its statutory procedures, including matters related to education, health and social care.
  • You will be familiar with relevant legislation including The Children and Families Act (2014), The SEND Code of Practice 2015, the Equality Act 2010 and familiar with the IAS national standards.
  • You will be required to have a qualification in Special Educational Needs, for example IPSEA training up to, and including, level 3 or are willing to work towards
