About Us
Muswell Hill Synagogue is a vibrant, welcoming and growing community in North London. Our youth are central to our future, and we are seeking a passionate Youth Director to help nurture their Jewish identity and strengthen their connection to the community.
The Role
We’re looking for a dynamic and inspiring individual to lead and develop our youth programme. You’ll work with the Rabbi, Rebbetzin and youth leaders to deliver engaging activities, services and events that encourage participation, belonging and Jewish growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead monthly Shabbat children’s services and festival activities, supported by youth leaders.
- Mentor young members in prayers and encourage active participation.
- Run weekly term-time Youth Club for Years 7 & 8.
- Coordinate youth events, including Friday night dinners, Shabbat lunches and Learn 2 Lead.
- Support and manage the youth leader (madrichim) team.
- Build strong relationships with youth and parents, keeping them engaged and informed.
About You
- Strong understanding of Modern Orthodox Judaism.
- Experience inspiring young people in a youth, community or educational setting.
- Confident in leading services and delivering engaging programmes.
- Warm, approachable and able to connect with young people and parents.
- Organised, proactive and a team player.
- Safeguarding & Development An Enhanced DBS check is required. As part of the United Synagogue, you’ll benefit from training and support through Tribe.
