Location: St David’s Hospice Shop, Pwllheli
Hours: 35 hours per week.
Salary: £23,360 per annum
Responsible to: Retail Assistant/Retail Support Officer
Contract: Permanent (Full time)

About the role:

Join St David’s Hospice as a Shop Manager, you’ll be part of a dedicated organisation that supports people and families when they need it most. Every sale made helps fund vital care.

You’ll take the lead in creating a welcoming, organised and vibrant shop environment, working with a brilliant team of volunteers and the Retail Support team to keep things running smoothly. Your creativity, people skills, and attention to detail will help maximise sales and raise awareness of the Hospice’s mission. If you love retail, enjoy working with people, and want a role with purpose, this could be the perfect fit.

We are looking for someone who will:

  • Manage the day-to-day running of the shop
  • Support, train and motivate a fantastic team of volunteers
  • Deliver excellent customer service and create attractive shop displays
  • Oversee stock control, including sorting, pricing, merchandising and maximising sales opportunities
  • Use IT systems to complete essential admin and keep the shop running smoothly
  • Maintain a safe working environment, ensuring all health & safety procedures are followed and any issues are reported promptly
  • Help us achieve our retail targets so we can continue supporting people across our communities
  • Act as an ambassador for St David’s Hospice in the community.

To do the role you'll need:

  • Retail experience and strong customer service skills.
  • Confident computer skills and ability to complete digital adimin
  • Experience or interest in stock management and merchandising
  • A friendly, positive leader who enjoys working with volunteers
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to stay calm under pressure
  • A full driving licence – essential for supporting shop operations
  • An understanding of health & safety responsibilities, with willingness to complete required training
  • Empathy for the Hospice’s work and alignment with our values.
