Are you passionate about supporting vulnerable adults in your community? Do you thrive in a role where every shift makes a real difference? The British Red Cross is looking for a compassionate and reliable Telecare Welfare Responder to join our dedicated team in Gloucestershire.

What does the role involve?

You’ll be part of a 24/7 response service, providing practical and emotional support to adults in their own homes who use Telecare alarms. Working on a flexible shift pattern, you’ll respond to alerts and attend service users’ homes within 45 minutes, offering reassurance, safety checks, and help accessing further support.

  • Responding to Telecare alerts and providing non-personal care support in service users’ homes.
  • Working flexibly across a 7-day rolling rota, including evenings, nights, and weekends and Bank Holidays.
  • Carrying out welfare checks, risk assessments, and liaising with families and professionals.
  • Maintaining accurate records and uphold safeguarding, confidentiality, and health & safety standards.

What do you need to be a Telecare Welfare Responder?

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365
  • Strong organisational skills and a professional telephone manner
  • Knowledge of supporting Service Users who may be disabled and/or frail, cognitively impaired and who may have dementia or mental health issues
  • Experience delivering high-quality services to the public
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
  • Willingness to travel across Gloucestershire within 45 minutes of a call
  • Right to Work in the UK. Unfortunately we are unable to offer sponsorship for this role.
