ROLE DESCRIPTION

Volunteer Role:

Reporting To:

  Education Chair

Appointment:
Members can serve for a term of three years, when a member is going from one Committee to another
there should normally be a one-year gap between the two appointments.

Purpose:
To promote and maintain high standards of teaching. Manage and support the NAFAS Certificates in
Floral Art and Design and other Education initiatives.

Responsibilities:
The Committee shall:

•  Encourage all NAFAS Teachers to acquire flower arranging qualifications offered by the

NAFAS Modular Course Certificates in Floral Art & Design, or other recognised educational
authorities, in addition to the NAFAS formal teaching qualification

•  Supply data for the National Lists
•  Co-operate in the publication of educational material
•  Help arrange:

1.  Training days for NAFAS Teachers
2.  Meetings with Area Education Representatives
3.  Regular Bulletins for Area Education Representatives
4.  Teachers Conference every 3 years

Person Specification
Ideally, the successful candidate should:

•  Hold sufficient qualifications in teaching
•  Have excellent communication skills, able to work with people at all levels
•
•  Be an organised self-starter, capable of taking initiative
•  Be able to work well under pressure

 Have access to a PC and emails

General
•  To, at all times, act as a role model, representing the Mission, Vision and Values of NAFAS
•  Attend and participate effectively in NAFAS meetings
•  To maintain a standard of dress code that is appropriate to the role
