Gloddaeth Holidays Assistant Team Leader (FULL-TIME) Gloddaeth (‘Glod’) Holidays is an exciting ministry that shares the good news of Jesus with thousands of young people every year, which we do by running residential holidays and through our schools ministry. We run Christian holidays predominantly for young people from independent schools in the North, the Midlands and Wales. Currently we organise one Easter holiday (for 16-18 year olds) and six summer holidays (three ‘Inter’ for 10-13 year olds and three ‘Senior’ for 14-18 year olds) with 330-380 young people attending each year. In addition we have an extensive leadership training programme geared towards our 200- 250 volunteer assistant leaders and leaders which consists of several residential events throughout the year. Our main historic focus is on independent schools but we are also open to opportunities to support ministry and pupils in maintained schools. You can read more about us on www.glod.co.uk as well as our parent charity on www.titustrust.org. About the role Responsibility This role is a senior one involving being overall in charge of three summer camps (both Senior and Inter camps) and assisting the Team Leader in managing the team and the work. As such this role will work closely with the Team Leader for Gloddaeth Holidays in determining how the camps will operate and involves considerable responsibility and decision making. This is a considerable role on the Gospel front lines but you will be well supported and part of a team that encourages one another. Mentoring, Evangelism & Discipleship Alongside the other four staff and 2-3 post- graduate trainees, this is a varied role including visiting schools to run Christian meetings and Staff chatting assemblies, developing new links into new schools, and assisting with the residential weekends and holidays throughout the year. This role involves a blend of supporting particularly boys, male students and leaders to grow in faith along with helping the many young people who are still exploring what they believe for themselves e.g. 70-80% of the young people on the Glod camps come from unchurched backgrounds. It is an exciting time to join the staff team as we continue to regroup after the pandemic, endeavour to reflect Jesus more and more in our culture, and seek to expand to more and more schools. Developing new work One of the hopes for the Gloddaeth ministry in the coming years is to develop a more regional focus in the Midlands and the North. As such one option is that this role is based in either Birmingham or Leeds/York rather than Manchester. Along with this option is the possibility of being a member of the Glod team for the next few years before then becoming the team leader for a new separate regional Midlands or Northern ministry. This would entirely depend on the experience and desires of the appointed person and we would explore this at interview. 1 · Gloddaeth Holidays Assistant Team Leader Job Description • Attend the Easter Revision Week. • To share the gospel with young people in schools and camps, ranging from large school assemblies to small CUs to camp talks • To establish existing school links and develop new ones as possible • To support some teachers in their year-round ministries • To share in the recruiting, training and care of leaders and assistant leaders for camp and on camp • To attend and contribute as required to various year-round events (e.g. Christmas Conference, Student Survival, Talk Training, New Leaders Week, Leaders Weekend) • Working with the Team Leader to develop gospel partnerships with Christian parents, local churches and other Christian organisations • Play an active part in the wider Titus Trust staff team • To share in the administrative tasks of the team/wider Trust as required • To set aside time for personal study Location: Manchester, Birmingham, or York/Leeds Salary: From £36K full-time depending on experience There is an occupational requirement to be a Christian.
