Job overview
We are recruiting for a temporary Rotational Band 5 Physiotherapist position.
Applicants should be Chartered Physiotherapists with HCPC registration and have a range of under graduate placement experience in an NHS setting. Successful candidate will work across the Trust as part of their rotational role. Each rotation is 6 months. Some weekend and oncall working is required. We offer a comprehensive on-call training package as well as rotational in-service trainings. Band 5s undertake QI projects with support. Preceptorship is also encouraged within the first year of Band 5 roles.

Main duties of the job
- Rotations will be Trustwide across the Royal Victoria Infirmary, Freeman Hospital, Regent Point and Community include:
- Medicine, Surgery/ITU, Orthopaedics, Out-patients, Cardiothoracic Surgery, Burns and Plastics, Paediatrics, Neurosciences, Amputee Rehabilitation, Major Trauma, Stroke and Older Peoples Medicine.
- We are able to offer excellent senior staff support and teaching.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enthusiasm, the ability to work flexibly and demonstrate a commitment to continuous personal development are all essential requirements of these posts.
- It is a requirement of this post to participate in the out of hour’s and weekend Physiotherapy Service.

- To participate in the Physiotherapy Band 5 rotational scheme, which involves working across the Trust in a range of clinical settings, some of which are regional specialities, for 6-month periods.
- Band 5 rotational posts are designed to consolidate and build on graduate skills and academic knowledge, giving the newly qualified physiotherapist a broad practical experience of a range of patients and conditions and areas of work.

KNOWLEDGE
Essential criteria
- Basic knowledge of a range of medical conditions and their impact on patient’s functional abilities
- Sound knowledge of the physiotherapy process
Desirable criteria
- Knowledge of undertaking research and audit projects
- Knowledge of current NHS issues e.g. NSFs Improving Working Lives
SKILLS
Essential criteria
- Organisation and time management skills
- Ability to work as part of a team

EXPERIENCE
Essential criteria
- Range of under graduate placement experience in a hospital setting

QUALIFICATIONS
Essential criteria
- Degree or Equivalent Diploma in Physiotherapy
- State Registered with Health and Care Professions Council

- Member of Chartered Society of Physiotherapists
