Title: Changemakers Volunteer Programme

Location: Hybrid. Office in London, SE1.

Pay: Voluntary (please get in contact if you require financial support*).

Time Commitment: Approximately 3 to 5 days a week for 6 weeks, depending on discussion and availability. We are happy to adjust the time commitment for those who need us to make adjustments.

Summary:

STOP THE TRAFFIK prevents vulnerable communities from being recruited, trafficked, and exploited. We’re looking for highly motivated, adaptable volunteers who are interested in joining us for 6 weeks to support on a wide range of work across our entire organisation. We’re looking for volunteers who are strong generalists, excellent communicators, and have exceptional research skills.

Equal Opportunities:

As a small charity working to disrupt the global business of human trafficking, gathering intelligence, and delivering campaigns and projects around the world, we recognise that our team is strengthened by the knowledge, experience and insights that people from a wide range of backgrounds bring. As a minimum, we expect all applicants to show a demonstratable commitment to equality and diversity.

*To ensure our volunteer program is accessible to a diverse range of candidates, we will cover reasonable travel costs and make a reasonable contribution to reimburse for food costs for those who require financial support. If you need financial support or are interested in learning more about the assistance we offer, please email info@stopthetraffik.org. We are committed to expanding this support where possible, but as a charity with limited resources, we are not currently able to provide everything we would like. We appreciate your understanding, and if volunteering isn’t an option for you at this time, we encourage you to explore the paid roles we are currently advertising.

Responsibilities:

On the Changemakers Volunteer Programme you will work across our Intelligence & Prevention Team, Operations & Development Team, Communications Team, and Data & Technology Team. Tasks you might complete include:

  • Research and draft Key Judgements, which are high-level strategic assessments highlighting major trends and patterns in modern slavery and human trafficking.
  • Research and draft Tactical Reports, which are investigations into specific suspected cases of modern slavery and human trafficking.
  • Complete due diligence on potential partners, including NGOs, businesses, and financial institutions.
  • Support the training and improving of the large language models that underpin the Traffik Analysis Hub.
  • Gather relevant Monitoring and Evaluation data across projects, helping our charity to report impact to funders, supporters, and partners.
  • Research potential funding opportunities and partnerships to develop a consistent pipeline of opportunities.
  • Support on various administrative tasks related to our fundraising activities, campaigns, and internal operations.

Requirements:

  • Interest in human rights and preventing modern slavery and human trafficking.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of tailoring language to different audiences, and building trust.
  • Experience conducting exceptional qualitative and quantitative research using both open-source and closed-source material.
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent time management and the ability to juggle multiple priorities.

Benefits:

Career Boost: Add experience in an intelligence-led human rights charity to your CV or LinkedIn profile.

Make a Difference: Contribute to a charity that is protecting high-risk communities from human trafficking and creating a safer world.

Increased Knowledge: Build understanding of anti-trafficking and the wider third sector, including fundraising, impact evaluation and programme delivery.

Certificate of Completion: Receive a Certificate of Completion at the end of the program to showcase your contributions and skills.
