Housed in a brand new building since 2016, 650 students across our 11-16 secondary and sixth form, attend our ambitious school.

Founded in 1926 as Bedlington Secondary School, Bedlington Academy is now part of the North East Learning Trust. The Trust's vision - that every child experiences excellence every day - is an aspiration that we are fully committed to. We aim to match the achievements of the best schools in the country and we are determined to do so without losing the friendly, supportive and inclusive ethos that makes this school so special.

About the North East Learning Trust (NELT)
In 2018 we were sponsored by the North East Learning Trust, a successful, multi-academy education trust. The trust is made up of seven secondary schools (including four sixth forms), four primary schools, a teacher training provider, North East SCITT, a national Research School and a National Teaching School Hub.
