Cafe Volunteer Coordinator - Worcestershire

Job Title: Cafe Volunteer Coordinator

Reports to: Team Leader

Salary: Scale 6, Points 26-28, £26,229 - £27,982 per annum, pro rata

Hours of work: Part Time (18.75 hours per week)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recruit, lead and supervise volunteers in line with the needs of the café
  • Ensure standards of compliance are met in relation to volunteer recruitment; references, DBS, mandatory training
  • Deliver and develop volunteer training and inductions
  • Maintain and develop excellent relationships with St Basils volunteers
  • Maintain, develop and build relationships with any third parties supporting St Basils (i.e., corporate partners; event hosts; local authority bodies etc.)
  • Develop and maintain excellent relationships with employment agencies, colleges, learning providers, etc.
  • Fulfil any relevant administrative tasks, including volunteer expenses
  • Support with the creation of Volunteer Policies
  • Report on volunteering activities as requested
  • Manage the volunteers’ rota
  • Coordinate and support on the ground events alongside the Café Coordinator (CC)
  • Encourage and develop community groups and activities
  • Support volunteers to follow HACCP
  • Ensure the café services continue smoothly in the CC’s absence
  • Deliver consistent quality service
  • Support with the delivery of a customer focused environment both in the kitchen and front of house
  • Control stock levels and orders in the CC’s absence
  • Management of daily reconciliations in the CC’s absence
  • Maintain accurate daily records for environmental health checks in the CC’s absence
  • Ensure compliance with environmental and food safety in the CC’s absence

QUALIFICATIONS

Essential:

  • L3 CIEH Food Safety & Catering or equivalent

Desirable:

  • Leadership or Management qualification

ROLE EXPERIENCE

Essential:

  • Experience of running and managing a food/catering establishment
  • Experience of developing and working in partnerships
  • Managing budgets/ finances

Desirable:

  • Devising rotas
  • Experience in recruiting, supervising, supporting and developing a volunteer workforce

KNOWLEDGE

Essential:

  • Food safety
  • Preparation of food
  • Creating menus
  • Customer Services/Hospitality

Desirable:

  • A good understanding of volunteer management and motivation
