Shop Manager GENERAL INFORMATION Spratton Hall is an IAPS day school for girls and boys. Situated at the edge of the village of Spratton, seven miles north of Northampton, the school is surrounded by beautiful rolling countryside. The school was founded in 1951 by KC Hunter, as a boarding prep school for 20 or so boys. In 1974, girls were admitted. At present, there are 393 pupils in the school, 284 pupils in the Prep School (Years 3-8) and 109 pupils in the Pre- Preparatory Department (Reception to Year 2). JOB DESCRIPTION Overview At Spratton Hall, we are more than just a school. We are a warm, vibrant community where every child and family is welcomed with care and kindness. We are looking for a shop manager to become the friendly face of the school and the go to guide for parents as they journey through our uniform requirements. This will be roughly 7 hours per week during term time and an additional 40 hours will be required towards the end of the summer holidays for appointments and packing orders. This is so much more than a retail role- it’s about welcoming families, supporting children and representing the heart of our school. You will often be one of the first friendly faces new parents meet, setting the tone with a warm smile and helpful guidance as they join our school community. Detailed Responsibilities Key Responsibilities: Welcome every family with warmth, patience and genuine care. Be a friendly point of contact for parents throughout their child’s school journey, not just at the start. Running shop with pride, keeping the shop clean, tidy, and welcoming Preparing uniform fittings and supporting new parents Managing stock levels, placing orders, and ensure our families always have what they need. Maintaining accurate sales and inventory records Liaising with school administration regarding shop operations Person Specification: Organised, reliable, and happy to take ownership of running the shop smoothly. Numerate and able to maintain accurate records Comfortable working independently but enjoys being part of a school community where relationships really matter.
