The Role

We are seeking an experienced and proactive School Premises Refurbishment Programme Manager to lead and coordinate refurbishment projects across our school estate. This pivotal role will ensure our learning environment remains safe, functional, and inspiring for both students and staff. The successful candidate will oversee all aspects of refurbishment works, including planning, budgeting, contractor management, and compliance with health and safety and education sector standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead on the planning, implementation, and oversight of a programme of refurbishment and estates change across the school estate
  • Develop and monitor project timelines, budgets, and resource plans, ensuring works are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Ensure all works are conducted in compliance with relevant legislation, building regulations, and school safeguarding policies.
  • Provide regular progress reports to the senior leadership team and governing body.
  • Manage procurement processes, including sourcing and evaluating quotes.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven experience in premises management, building refurbishment or facilities project management.
  • Strong knowledge of building regulations, health and safety legislation, and contractor management.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders.
  • High level of organisation, attention to detail, and ability to work to deadlines.
  • Relevant qualifications in construction, facilities management, or project management (desirable)
  • Experience in education or similar sectors (desirable)

This role may require occasional evening or weekend work, especially during holiday periods when major works are scheduled.
