Support worker North and West Wiltshire

Could you be a support worker?

Support workers come from a wide variety of backgrounds - like the people we support - so experience in the care sector is not essential. Life experience and a caring, empathetic nature is more important and we give full induction training and shadowing so those who are new to caring feel supported and confident in the role. Personal care is not usually part of the role.

We are actively looking for men and women of all ages to join our team in the North and West Wiltshire areas. We'd also welcome applications from across Wiltshire. We would prefer you to be able to offer at least 10 hours each week.

More about the team

Our support workers spend quality time with people living with dementia either in their home or out and about in the community. They aim to build relationships and promote independence for people in the early to mid-stages of dementia. There is no such thing as a typical visit as activities will be driven by the interests and enthusiasms of the people we support. It may be chatting at home or going out and about in the community, supporting clients to revisit past hobbies or try something new.

In 2022 Alzheimer's Support's Home Support was a finalist in the national 3rd Sector Care Awards, and three individual support workers were finalists in the BBC's Make a Difference Awards. In 2017 our support workers and their managers were named named Best Team in the Dementia Care Awards.

Mr T said his wife is like a different person after spending time with your support worker - happy, uplifted and very animated.
