PURPOSE OF JOB:

  • We believe passionately in ensuring our care practitioners have the skills and knowledge to confidently and effectively parent our children in our service. Guided by our Model of Care – PACE – a trauma-informed approach, we focus on building safe, trusting, and meaningful relationships with each child, to support and meet their individual needs.
  • You will work directly with children and young people to safeguard and support their positive development and growth by adopting a child-centred approach, alongside working with our children and key safeguarding partners. You will support team development through mentoring and provide reflective supervision to both lead and enable yourself and colleagues to be positive role models, supporting children's aspirations, development and attainment.
  • As part of your parenting role, you will attend respectfully to each child and young person’s personal and care needs, including if required, intimate care (e.g., toileting and washing), while maintaining their safety, dignity, privacy and autonomy at all times. You will ensure that their assessed social, emotional, health, hygiene, medical and safeguarding needs are met.
  • You will be expected to engage in professional development by actively participating in training, Consultations and reflective supervision sessions to continuously enhance your practice in line with The Smith Foundation’s Policy and Procedures. In doing so, you will uphold Boothroyd Houses’ commitment to a Quality of Life and Positive Behaviour Support approaches while fostering a positive attitude and promoting physical and mental health and wellbeing for yourself and those in your care.
  • The role is integral to creating a nurturing, empowering environment where every child feels valued, supported and able to thrive.
